Lincolnshire breeder Brian Turner returned to DONCASTER on Wednesday to take a second maiden final with a member of his Head Bound/Story Time litter.

Match Play, whose last win came in A7 at Henlow in December, returned from a lengthy break and was well beaten by 29.54 winner Token Move in last week’s 483m heats. But with £500 at stake, the strong running black found 35 spots on her previous run to reverse the placings in a 29.38 run.

Play is a sister to the fastest greyhound over course and distance this year, Apache Kid (29.13).

Punters hit the bar three times in CENTRAL PARK’s Wednesday night opens. The 480m maiden went to Barry O’Sullivan’s 6-4 chance Mystical Sid (Iso Octane-Fane Jaydeeque, Sep 15) who beat Crafty Bubbles (10-11f) by just over three lengths in 29.34. Kentish Fame (5-4f) was beaten in the 642 open by Spencer Mavrias’ 2-1 chance Designer Deejay (Godsend-Balls Of Flower, Dec 13) in 40.24 (FOY 39.90). Tony Collett missed out again in the 480 open as his Kentish Master (6-4f) was ‘headed’ by Heather Dimmock’s Likeitalot (Crash-Cornamaddy Daiy, Feb 13) in 29.42.
