41 of the 53 lots that went onto to bench at Sheffield’s Sunday sale went home with new owners.

Top lot was the pup mentioned on this site last week, Sporting Silky who changed hands for 3,100 guineas after winning his trial in 29.45.

Another three lots made 3,000 guineas including the winner of the day’s only 480 metre trial, Trapper Jodie who is heading off to Kinsley after recording 28.50.

Jim ‘Elwick’ Brown snapped up the fastest 500m trialler of the day, Aulton Pearl who went around in 29.31.

Sales promoter Brian Harrison said: “It was a very good sale – absolutely packed – with a lot of dogs making decent money and a few others sold privately afterwards.

“But I am now looking for dogs for the pre-Derby sale at Wimbledon. Anyone interested can contact me on 07821 803785.”
