Following on from the earlier piece (below), we have attempted to speak to Mildenhall promoter Dave Coventry. Although we have not spoken directly to him, we have been told by a good source that he intends to keep the stadium open if at all possible.

This will be determined by whether he can agree terms with the solicitors who are owed the outstanding legal costs. There also remains a possibility – due to the implications for the Government and the effects of the judgement on the law relating to legal aid – that the issue may still go before the European Court.

The GBGB have a welfare plan in place, should they be required to step in, though they too are seeking discussions with the racecourse promoter.

An article in the Guardian states states that Mildenhall Stadium has closed following a Supreme Court judgement on Wednesday.

Phones at the stadium are not being answered and staff at GBGB are also trying to obtain further information.
