That was some debut. Craig Samuels, first time out at YARMOUTH, £60 @ 7-4 on Aberlady, £40 @ 9-4 on Seldom Blue. £195 profit Simples! Nigel Tanner? He won, obviously! He always does. £28.33 profit though? Maybe he was taking pity on the bookies? As for Liam Aspin -proving to be a bit of a hairdryer. Blowing hot and cold.

Over to NOTTINGHAM and no one want to pile more misery on Mark Pierrepont. Though even seeing your only selection chinned was probably more fun than watching Everton away to Tottenham. Both finished with 0. By comparison, Richard Gender had £25 on a 9-4 winner for a net loss of £18.75. Anna Thompson had £20 on a 3-1 winner for a net loss of £20.

Black East (R4 T3) was running at top form before lockdown. Everything went wrong for him last race think he can go well here £30 win

Lussatouk Max (R11 T2) will have to come from last place as he slow away, but don’t think there is a better finisher at track. I’ll Take Max to follow field around pounce late on to win this A1. £70 win

Mark Cranston:

John Wilkinson

The fifth race is a good class A2 going with a pup I like Teddy Two (R5 T4). A change of box could help with a good start could get a pitch around the first bend and hope to show back straight pace. £40 win
Race 11 is a good A1 where my selection is Lissatouk Max (R11 T2). There are plenty of early pace dogs in the race who could blaze a trail. I am hoping my selection can get a clear run, finish with a late flurry, and conclude the meeting off in style. £60 win

SHEFFIELD

Thought we would spice this up a bit by using it as an eliminator. Carl Perry has been pretty consistent. Nick Taylor and Connor Wrigglesworth had both been through dodgy spells. So, based on that, the biggest loser between Nick and Connor is rested for a couple of outings. Anybody out there think they can make an impression? Best call Carl.

Not had the time for the usual in-depth study but I’ve still come up with, what I think, are a couple good bets for tonight. Geelo Golddust (R3 T5) opened her account last week and see no reason she shouldn’t go well again. There are a few downgraded D1 dogs in there and the biggest danger would be Meadow Way Star (T3) if he finds any off his pre lockdown form. He was mixing it with the top open sprinters, a different league from D2 dogs, but he’s not shows that form to date so happy to take on with Golddust  £50 win
Race 8 is a good S2  where Sharpys Rocket will be ‘all the rage’ after is gift win in A4 last week. He’s got that touch of class in this race with his previous open A1 form, but this is a particularly good S2 race. Some News has won opens over the 660 trip but been slow to come to hand since lockdown. The step up might help her, but I’m going to go with a bitch bang in form, Ivys Belucky (R8T4). She has won her last two and is hailed as a stayer in the making. In my view, she has been unlucky not to get the chances in maiden opens. £50 win

Nick Taylor:

Going to very short and sweet tonight Any price is a good price on Sharpys Rocket (R8 T6) Nap material £100 win

Connor Wrigglesworth:

Coney Vanbuuren (R10 T2) ran well last week and even though the time was nothing sparkling he still ran well to the eye. Hopefully he can reproduce his run last week and should have a chance. £50 win
Sharpys Rocket (R8 T6) has been getting better and better with each run. This is his first run over 6 bends since lockdown but if he comes to anything like his 6 bend form before lockdown he should have a decent chance. £50 win
