FACE THE BLADE – Kevin Hutton

He has never been in trap one before but he trialled well . He isn’t very experienced but looks a great prospect for the future. Whether this race has come too soon for him only time will tell.

TEEJAYS PANTHER – Paul Young

He ran well to reach the Monmore Puppy Derby Final. I am reasonably pleased with the draw because he needs the rails. I am hoping for a big run but he still has puppy status and is taking on some decent older dogs.

DROOPYS LONDON – Dean Childs

London has come in as a reserve because Sidarian Teejay has gone down with a virus. He is a good open class dog at his best and would be a good reserve, but this is his first race back after a lay-off. His trials are decent enough.

BALLYGIBBON KING – Seamus Cahill

I think he has an excellent chance. He is well drawn, he loves the track after running second in the Kent Derby last year and he is well enough. The only question mark over him is that he has occasionally been missing his break. To win the competition, I think two of the first three runners have to win.

BLUE MOMENT – Mark Wallis

In my opinion, Blue Moment is a very fast dog. He has won five from seven at Towcester and in my opinion was very unlucky when Domino Storm beat him. Ideally I would have preferred traps three or four but I think he has enough pace to get a clear run.

LANN JACOB – John Mullins

He has to do everything right to have any chance at all, starting with a fast break. He has won at the track (29.12 calc) so you certainly can’t say he can’t win it, but realistically he is one of the lesser chances.
