Towcester are expecting to stage their first Television Trophy trialstake and their first hurdle open on Saturday.

Racing manager Chris Page said: “Last week we had four entered for the trialstake. We already have four this week and the opens don’t close until noon tomorrow (Tuesday). We will duplicate the trialstakes as many times as we have entries, and we have some local runners who will be able to fill some gaps. Jason Foster has entered Market Heights again and will also be bringing some hurdlers. Ricky Holloway is also promising to bring some for the hurdle race so we are quite hopeful.”

A couple of the likely leading contenders trialled at Towcester over the weekend. On Saturday, Fraser Black’s Droopys Streak clocked 28.13 for the 480 metres while last year’s winner King Kane recorded 28.20 on Sunday afternoon.
