Gerry Holian’s Kerry Hospital Stake winner was soon clear and held off the challenge of The Other Major by a length and a half in 28.73sec.

Holian was hoping for a double with Emers Superstar in heat three but he was denied by fastest heat winner Boherna Pedro.

Liam Dwan’s runner was soon in front and came home two and a half lengths of Irish Derby Finalist Emers Superstar in 28.79sec.

Declan Byrne’s Black Tom was a trap to line winner of the opening qualifier when holding Tynwald Rodney by a length in 28.78sec.

Billy Murphy’s Ascot Buddy was a surprise 5-1 winner of the second qualifier when getting up close home to deny long-time leader Lemon Miley by a short head in 28.97sec.
