Wimbledon trainer Tony Taylor is to join Hove as a contract trainer in a month’s time. A former head lad to the late Gunner Smith, Taylor is currently serving out one month’s notice.

Coral’s Head of Stadia, David McDonald said: “We visited Tony’s kennels and were very impressed with what he and owner Robert Brinkley are setting out to achieve. Very impressed indeed.

“Tony has between 40-45 runners, slightly more than Dean Childs who he is replacing. As soon as Tony is established, we will release Dean from his three month notice period so he can be off to Crayford. He will leave with our best wishes and will hopefully continue to be a regular visitor to Hove.”
