Four of the top six in the betting take part in a red-hot semi-final of the Thurles Fresh Milk Tipperary Cup over 525 yards at Thurles on Friday.

The favourite is Liam Dwan’s Boherna Pedro, who clocked the fastest time of the year in the heats when making all in 28.59sec (-20). Last week he was also eye-catching when winning in 28.79sec (-40).

Declan Byrne’s Black Tom is the only other unbeaten runner. Last week he went one spot better than Boherna Pedro when scoring in 28.78sec.

Irish Derby finalist Emers Superstar also lines-up alongside kennelmate Curious Boy, the Kerry Hospital Stake winner, who was the quickest second round winner clocking 28.73sec.

With his draw on the fence, Boherna Pedro gets the nod.

Tynwald Rodney, who went quickest in the heats of the Scottish Derby is given another chance to get things right.

Peter Cronin’s runner has been making a mess of the start lately but this is his easiest opportunity for some time.

Frances O’Donnell’s The Other Major, beaten a length and a half by Curious Boy last week, is the main threat.
