English Derby quarter finalist Fweshfromthesesh (David Bale-Lissigiveen Joy, Jun 14) produced the performance of the night at Hove on Thursday.

Alfie Herbert’s black clocked 29.85 (-10) when winning a heat of a 515m competition by three lengths from Starring Storm in what proved to be the fastest time of the night.

The only other runner to break 30.00 was Banabane (Droopys Scolari-Ballymac Razl, Mar 14). The reigning Brighton Belle champ clocked 29.94 (-10) on her return to 515m.

The disqualification for fighting of Blackstone Ollie was the main talking point at Monmore on Thursday night.

The dog whose initial suspension was the cause of debate and controversy during the Gymcrack left the stewards in no doubt after clearly fighting at the second bend. He ran from trap two. . .

The race went to 9-2 shot Black Toms Brae (Kinloch Brae-China Doll, Aug 14) with a 28.82 (-10) run.

Pat Rosney said: “I have no arguments with the stewards this time. It was blatant. It is a great shame for owner John Lambe. It is such a shame because he is such a fast greyhound.

“I don’t know what happens next. He is a fast greyhound but that is his second disqualification so we can’t even try him over hurdles. It seems a shame that you have to gamble after they have been disqualified once on the flat. One part of me thinks it would have been nice to see if he would be a genuine hurdler, but then what would be the point. There are no hurdle races in the north of England anyway and you would only be schooling him to sell him on.”

Corrin Price’s ultra consistent Jetts Holly (Milldean Panther-Kathleens Holly, Sep 14) produced the performance of the night with a 38.21 open race win over 630m. It was a third win with three second places in the last six races for the former Towcester A4 runner.
