Tynwald Baz, owned and bred by Terry Corden, who succumbed to cancer earlier in the year, treated SKY viewers to one of the most emotional nights of 2017 at Sheffield on Tuesday.

Now represented by daughter Rachel, on a track where Terry was once the promoter, Baz was looking to avenge a series of near misses in his second Betfred Steel City Cup final. He ran from trap one with Dropzone in six and Yahoo Benny in three.

The night’s other feature, in memory of ex-trainer George Carrigill was decimated by withdrawls but nevertheless went to protege Elaine Parker  and the brilliant Droopys Live.
