Hove racegoers will have an exciting bonus for tonight’s Sussex Cup first round with the grand re-opening of the fully refurbished restaurant with its new Owners Lounge writes Floyd Amphlett.

Although the stadium management remain tight lipped on the cost of the nine month project, which partially re-opened for Regency Final night, it is clearly a long way into six figures.

It enables the track to deliver on a pledge to boost the benefits of being a greyhound owner at the the four Ladbrokes Coral tracks as well as enhance the racing experience for regular racegoers.

Hove Stadium Manager Brian Murpphy said: “We listened to what the owners had to say and are very proud of the new Lounge. As the name suggests, it is an exclusive area for our greyhound owners with its own sofas, tables and separate bar.

“The restaurant itself has potential for 600 covers but we are keeping it to 320 and is completely refurbished with new furniture and decor.

“The additional space upstairs – the Skyline Enclosure – is for patrons who want to pay extra for a premium view away from the general admission crowd but without dining. It also has its own bar and tote facilities.”

The smart new restaurant

Coral’s odds compiler Danny Jordan has gone for proven experience of the track and priced King Turbo as a 4-1 ante post favourite to add the Sussex Cup to 2018 Olympic title.

2018 Sussex Cup forecast Sporting Dave and Trade Fudge are 7-1 joint second favourites along with another proven local Droopys Gold.
