On Saturday, Henlow stage one of the most unusual races seen on a British racecard in some time. The A10 first race is a four-runner event with the entire field trained by Kim Taylor. Three of the runners are ‘Savana’ littermates; January pups by Coolavanny Bert out of Savana Ruby.

Backdoor Dazl won the slowest (calculated) 630m open staged at Monmore in 20 years on Thursday night. Sandra Ralph’s runner clocked 39.31 on normal going. The other opens were won in 38.14, 38.18 and 38.46. Dazl’s victory came in the ‘Its good, but its not quite Carling stakes’.

Harlow grader Billymac Taylor finally broke a 27 race losing sequence in some style last week when winning by twelve and a quarter lengths.
