Yes – he did it again. Paul Binks – the Essex Einstein – continued his winning run when beating the bookies for the FOURTH consecutive time at Perry Barr last week.

His nap, Rubys Rascal, returned at 3-1 for Paul’s £50 stake and he only missed out by a short head from also landing the £50 double with Cloran Paddy (7-4). Net profit £100

Steve Nash picked out 7-4 winner Affane Party (to £40) but hit the bar with the Lister duo of Marians Dream and Keplar Nine who both finished second. Net profit £10

Bunny Bookmakers’ Danny Hunt drew a blank when both Paintstown Duke and Lost One Dare were both turned over. Net loss £100

But another respecatble night for assistant trainer Nathan Hunt who had selected five runners. Only two obliged, but Swift Lucius (£10 @ 4-1) and Rubys Rascal (£20 @ 3-1) were enough to give him a Net profit £30

So onto Towcester for the EEC Puppy Derby and some team changes. Nasher is rested, Bunny has been transfer listed with Anthony ‘Enzo’ Ennis being drafted in for the media and Cashdown Racing’s Phil Rowbottom – bigged-up up by the Monmore management as a ‘shrewd Northerner’ – in for the chalk monkeys.

Nathan Hunt keeps his place in midfield with the Essex Einstein wanted by both Barcelona and a Corals hitman.

Although we have a few accepted invitations already in the book, we are interested in hearing from anyone who fancies taking part in future punters’s challenges. Get in touch at [email protected]

The rules remain unchanged – the placing of a fictional £100 on the SKY card, singles or multiples. We quote early prices, but make winning calculations based on SP (since the early prices may be spread across different firms).

Full form is below tips

Paul Binks (Owners)

7:11 – Forest Mike: was impressive in the first round of the puppy derby but fluffed his lines at the boxes in the quarter final. A repeat of his 5.17 sectional from his race on 28 October should see him blast clear and hold off the charge of Bentekes Bocko on the run in. He is my nap.
8:33 – Sallows Ford: returns to the scene of an amazing journey to the semi final of the greyhound derby and fresh after a break. A good break can see the Monmore raider spring a surprise in the seniors Standard.

PUNTING: £50 Win Forest Mike (5-2), £50 win double with Sallows Ford (4-1)

Tony ‘Enzo’ Ennis (Media)

8:16 – Penny’s Luna: took down two of the staying big guns in Cloran Paddy and Russelena Reggie at Perry Barr last week and can serve up more of the same at Towcester tonight . The new kid on the block of the staying scene has a great mix of early speed and stamina and she can prove too classy for these rivals.

8:33 – My Mate Max:  In the veterans race I think My Mate Max could be overpriced. I like his draw in three and although John Mullins’ grand old campaigner does have to reverse Perry Barr form with Drumkeen Oyster I can see him taking revenge at this track which suits him better .

PUNTING: £70 win Pennys Luna (2-1) £20 win My Mate Max (9-2) £10 win double

Phil Rowbottom (bookies)

7:43 – Queen Anna: As ever in sprints the break will be crucial and Anna is consistent in that department and her track record performance at Henlow, along with a draw inside of her main rivals, should be enough to see her home here.

8:33 – Sallows Ford: He may have his doubters but you cannot argue with the winning record (over 30%) of Derby semi-finalist Sallows Ford. He ran his usual race to win his recent Monmore trial narrowly and at the likely odds is preferred to favourite Drumkeen Oyster.

9:08 – Magical Bale: With only three races to his name Bale looks to be on a steep upward curve and could have the big final at his mercy by the first bend.

PUNTING: £50 win Sallows Ford (4-1) £50 win double Queen Anna (5-2) & Magical Bale (13-8)

Nathan Hunt (Trainer)

7:11 – Bentekes Bocko:  A drop in class for this fella, a Kirby memorial winner at Limerick last year. When he gets it right he’s up there with the best but looks a touch clumsy in behind.

7:43 – Kilmore Lemon: I’ve seen a lot of this dog at Romford and he’s strengthening up with every run. Possesses huge pace once his paws touch the sand and I’m of the opinion he will be the leading sprinter next year.

8:16 – Barricane Tommy: Dog looks like he’s just coming to hand now, ran very well at Perry Barr and has the advantage of a recent look around the track. Hoping Patrick can have a successful night on home turf.

9:08 – Magical Bale: Last weeks semi final showed how much this dog is improving. Drawn closer to the rails tonight which can only help as he cuts the bends. Whatever the result tonight he’s most definitely a dog for next year.

PUNTING: £20 win Trixie Bentekes Bocko (9-4) Kilmore Lemon (3-1) Barricane Tommy (5-2)  £20 win Magical Bale (13-8)
