BRITISH breeders can be suitably proud of the sextet who will line up for Saturday’s 69th British Bred Produce Stakes Final which must rate as the best in many years.

Kennelmate Romeo Storm justified 5-4 favouritism to beat Monmore Puppy Derby fourth Romany Rouge by two and a half lengths in 28.78.

There was a turn-up in the third semi where the fastest dog in the competition to date, What Fun Jamie (28.49c) was just headed on the line by Mossvale Ace. Derek Knight’s black was winning for the first time in his 13 race career.
