As predicted last month, the William Hill Northern Puppy Derby is to be uncoupled from the All England Cup and will take place two months earlier than last year.
It was on October 19th that Droopys Zephyr overturned Roxholme Nidge in the £8,000 decider. This year the final will be staged on August 9th. Although it gets underway in July, the event will be restricted to September ’16 whelps and younger.
The Angel of the North (£3,000 to winner) will commence on the night of the Puppy Derby semis (August 2) and conclude on the same final night.
The William Hill All England Cup is expected to go ahead in October, the Laurels dates are still to be confirmed, but will probably be held in December.
