SWINDON’S undercard was dominated by two great local crowd pleasers.

The 685m was the 12th open race victory over course and distance for Pete Swadden’s Jet Stream Bound (Razldazl George-Southet Lazey, Apr 15) who held off the persistent challenge of Meadow to win by three quarters of a length in 42.11 (+15).

Swift Europe (Makeshift-Swift Fanta, Nov 12) had just been through the leanest spell of his career, 12 races going back to December 2016, but bounced back to win his 20th 509m open in 30.25.

Savanna Dolly (Kinloch Brae-Caulry Hero, Aug 14), beaten in a Henlow A7, just over a month ago, produced the performance of the night at CRAYFORD on Saturday.

The Kevin Boothby owned, Jason Bloomfield trained black went into the 540m maiden as a 9-2 chance and never gave her supporters a second of doubt. A classic ‘trap to line’ performance concluded in 33.48 seconds, just half a length slower than Ribble Aon’s FOY in the Bussey Memorial Final. It was Dolly’s fourth consecutive win and followed A7, A6 and S3 victories at her home course.

Drumkeen Oyster (Hondo Black-) produced his best run over the PERRY BARR 480m course in 21 months on Saturday.

Carla Hendy’s track record holder (27.93) whose career appeared in the balance after surgery and a 15 month absence from the track, returned a time of 28.29 (-10), his quickest run since October 2015.
