The GBGB website has now received over 5 million page views since it was re-launched on February 3. Nearly 100,000 unique users have visited the site over half a million times, viewing an average 9 pages on each visit.

GBGB media and communications officer Simon Banks said the figures were testament to the sport’s popularity; “Although it is difficult to ascertain the exact number of individual visitors, the sheer numbers of page views has caught me by surprise. The data show that we have around 90,000 regular visitors but it records individual devices so someone who visits the site on both their laptop and mobile would be shown as two users. All the same, even if everyone viewed from two devices that would mean 45,000 regulars, which is pretty impressive.”
Unsurprisingly, the results page is the most visited, but the “my kennel” page is the second most viewed with around 2,000 regular visitors. After that the open race page, with the new enhanced search options, is the third most popular. “The ownership page and trainers pages are the next most visited and I will be updating and improving those next” added Banks. “Currently you can only search for trainers attached to tracks and people have asked that we offer a post code search for all trainers so people seeking a local open race trainer can now find one.”

“We have had a lot of very positive feedback and some very good suggestions for improvements and new features, several of which we have implemented. I hope people will continue to suggest things, either directly or via social media.”

Over 90% of users are from the UK with 4% from Ireland. Spain, the United States and Germany make up the top five territories but there are over 90 countries from where the site is accessed, including Iran, Botswana and Azerbaijan, illustrate the global appeal of the sport.
