Talented graphic designer (remember the van designs?), retired greyhound owner, and re-homing volunteer Chris Michael has produced a pin badge that looks certain to resonate with greyhound followers in Britain and beyond writes *Floyd Amphlett
It is based on a subject that raises passions like few others in the greyhound industry – ‘retired not rescued’.

Chris said: “I decided to do a mock-up of the pin/lapel badges, as I just enjoy designing things as I do for homing centre merchandise already, and sent it to a couple guys & girls involved in racing. There was high praise and it was suggested I put them up for a pre-order. I ordered 100 but with manufacturing time, they won’t be dispatched for 5 or so weeks but that’s not stopped the orders coming in. Within 24 hours, after a bunch of shares on social media, 47 had been pre-ordered which I’m very happy with, and I’d expect plenty more orders too once they’re readily available.

“These are perfect to show that pro-racers are proud of what they do and what their dog has achieved. Hopefully, people can wear them with pride, whether that be on their person, dog’s collar or coat etc.

“Going forward, I’ll see what the demand is and if it’s there, it could continue to be a fantastic way to raise money for homing centre’s with other designs and have them available at tracks also.

The badges cost £5 delivered to Great Britain, plus £1 postage to ROI & NI, and can be ordered here: https://retirednotrescued.bigcartel.com/

Profits of the first batch will be going to Seaside Greyhounds to support vet bills.
