On the day that Kevin Hutton attended a lunch to mark the defence of his Chelsea Glass Trainers Championship title, the popular Towcester handler suffered an extremely rare blank night at Swindon.

The kennel whose 2015 open race tally at the Wiltshire venue was more than double its closest rival, had all five runners chinned on Wednesday.

Dragon Big Bux (11-10f) finished second to Seiskin Raptor in the sprint (16.46).

Then Taranis Bolt (1-2f) finished down the field behind Klockwork Kannon in the standard (29.24).

Trainer Paul Sallis also won the 509 win the Bog Brae (30.37), with two Hutton runners in his wake, Jet Stream Force (6-1) and Sittingbourne bound Swansalona Diva (6-4f).

The night ended the way it had started with Hutton’s Creative Thinker (5-2) beaten by Terry Kibble’s Few Scoops in the 685 open (42.65).
