Tonight’s SKY card from Hove sees the latest battle between our four teams. Pat Rosney (trainers) is still basking in his £93.75 profit at Sheffield.

This week we have a tag team representing the bookmakers, Sam and Martin from Derby sponsors Star Sports. (Probably a wise move given the layers’ abysmal record thus far).

The rules remain unchanged – the placing of a fictional £100 on the SKY card, singles or multiples.

Full form is below tips

SAM & MARTIN (Star Sports – bookmakers)

7:11 Young Blitz Back to two bends and in the box he seems to do best from. He will need to reverse the form with Ela Ela Genie from Round 1 of the Bresmed Sprint, who does want rails.   Hasn’t yet had a look round Hove, but hopefully this doesn’t hinder the dogs chances. Will be outsider of the field but happy to take a chance.

8:33 Goldies Seb Formerly Slick Sebastian, hosed up over 720m at Sheffield last week. Looks like a stayer going places and can lead these a merry dance and really string these out.

9:08 Tyrap Dragi Everything fell right for the locally trained Jason Heath dog last week. The dog has an absolute plot draw with five wanting rails. Any trouble and this dog will be away. Despite being a big price, we fancy this one to get an upset and land the spoils.

PUNTING: 7:11 Young Blitz £25 win (betting 12-1), 8:33 Goldies Seb £50 win (betting 3-1), 9:08 Tyrap Dragi £25 win (betting 10-1)

DAVE LAWRENCE (Owner)

I’ve got shares in two runners at Hove tonight – Forest Con and Ballymac Manix and both will go very close but their odds are a bit skinny so I’m going elsewhere for my selections.

8:33 Karlow Turbo (T2)  He was my Regency ante-post bet but first bend bother frustratingly saw him eliminated in the semi-finals. I’m hoping to get my stake back in this 740m contest where I can see Seamus Cahill’s dog leading early and repelling the late challenges of traps 1 & 5.

8:51 Droopys Missouri (T6)  Paul Young’s charge runs Hove really well and looks a spot of value against the hotpots Barricane Tiger & Droopys Acrobat. They  could easily come together on the run up and if the well drawn Missouri can repeat his 4.28 sectional and 29.61 winning time of last week it would be all over!

PUNTING: 8:33 £50 Karlow Turbo (betting 7-4), 8:51 £50 Droopys Missouri, (betting 7-2)

7:26 Main bet is  Forest Con, who I was surprised to see available at 11-10 this morning. Unbeaten through Monmore’s Puppy Derby (and we all know how well that form, as always, is working out), he should come on for his comeback race at Towcester. That was preceded by a sizzling 27.37 trial (inside clock) over tonight’s C&D. Got his box in 6 as well.

9:08 Conversely the draw in the Regency Final makes it difficult to bet with confidence, but Aayamza Breeze was desperately unlucky in her semi final, having to almost stop and get going again after challenging Rubys Rascal at the fifth turn. She’s the only bitch, and youngest in the field. I’m hopeful she can overcome any traffic problems and land the big prize.
7:59 My ‘value tenner’ this week goes on Houdini Lee. I thought the local runner stuck to his guns really well to win last week after plenty of trouble and is rewarded with another draw on the fence. Olympic finalist Brinkleys King is the class act  – 29.62 in January stands out – but morning odds are very short.
7:26  £60 Forest Con  (betting 11-10)  7:59 £10 win Houdini Lee (betting 8-1)   9:08 £30 win Aayamza Breeze (betting 13-8)

PAT ROSNEY (Trainer)

I am going with a £20 Trixie (three doubles and a treble) plus a £20 straight bet.

7:26  Forest Con – Monmore Puppy Derby Winner and that form represents the best form around at the minute in my opinion.  He also did an electric trial over course and distance a couple of weeks ago.

7:43  Sober Call – A very fast dog on the flat and over the sticks, and looks to have a good draw to work from.

8:33  Karlow Turbo – Fully expected this dog to be in the Regency Final but a slow break cost him in the semis.  Tonights race looks an ideal opportunity for him  to get out and dominate this field, providing he stays the extra distance.

I am going to have the remaining £20 on our big fella in the final (9.08): Fearsome Phantom.  Win lose or draw he gives 110% and will give us a good run for our money.

PUNTING: £20 Trixie – 7:26 Forest Con (betting 11-10), 7:43 Sober Call (betting 5-4), 8:33 Karlow Turbo (betting 7-4) 9:08 Fearsome Phantom (betting 8-1)
