The Greyhound Board of Great Britain is pleased to announce the appointment of sports law solicitor Peter Cadman as chair of the Greyhound Regulatory Board.

Peter is a partner in of Russell – Cooke LLP and has been Chair of the GBGB Appeal Board, a post he held with the NGRC since 2006. He is also a member of the GBGB’s impartiality committee.

Peter holds, and has held, a number of positions in sports regulation, including chairing Premier League Commissions and is honorary legal advisor to the British Fencing Association. He has also worked as a pro-bono advisor to the London Olympics and the Rugby World Cup for Ireland Rugby Union.

GBGB Managing director Mark Bird said: “Peter is an excellent addition to the Board of Directors, both as an Independent and also as the Regulatory Board Chair. His understanding and experience of the greyhound regulatory processes are obvious but his background in sport governance will really add value within his role. Peter will step down from both the Appeal Board and the Impartiality committee with immediate effect. I would again offer my sincere thanks to Robert Griffiths QC, who stepped down from this position after 3 years, for both his leadership and direction whilst GRB Chairman”.
