Perry Barr have cancelled Saturday’s evening card but are not planning to scrap the fixture.

The Birmingham track have struggled for entries for their sole evening meeting. Last week, as an example, it was an eight-race card of which seven were opens, and three had empty traps.

Racing manager Martin Seal said: “Entries for our open races were down on last week and given the number of dogs currently on the racing strength, it is not feasible to stage an evening meeting as well as adhering to our significant BAGS commitments. We will still be holding a trial session on Saturday evening.
“Going forward, I would hope that this decision is a one off and that we will return to normal from next week.”
