Former Northern Irish runner Barnish Panther (Milldean Panther-Swift Maggie, Aug 12) recorded a sensational trial at Towcester on Thursday night.

The 28.50 (525) Drumbo Park winner clocked a sensational 27.86 for new handler Carol Weatherall. The fastest time previously recorded was Vanrooney’s 28.06.

Racing manager Chris Page said: “He didn’t even trap that well, but then . . . whoosh! He was up against Unlkely Buddy who ran in our Anglo-Irish race and beat him ten.”
