Reculver Ozzie justified 8-13 favouritism in the semi-finals of the William Hill Springbok and was rewarded with trap one for Tuesday’s final.

Barry O’Sullivan’s runner clattered into the first hurdle and it was Julius George that pinched a lead.

However Reculver Ozzie recovered well and led at the final flight to prevail by half a length in a fastest 29.71sec.

Jason Foster’s Priceless Sun was also a short priced favourite (4-6) for the second eliminator but a slow start and a bump over the first flight put paid to his chances.

Meanwhile George Andreas’ Jolly Master (5-1) was soon in front and went on to beat Barnagrane Ash by four lengths in 30.23sec.

Draw for Tuesday’s final:

1 Reculver Ozzie

2 Julius George

3 Priceless Sun

4 Final Farloe

5 Barnagrane Ash (w)

6 Jolly Master (w)
