Romford have no plans to return to their category three competitions despite running one a month over the next three months.

They kick off with the heats of the Tony Williams Dual Distance Trophy on Friday over 575m. The 750m final takes place a week later.

It is followed by the more traditional Monday/Friday format for the Tony Byerley Quicksilver Trophy over 400m and worth £750 to the winner and staged in May.

The 575m Rose Bowl will be stage in June.

Racing manager Peter O’Dowd said: “They are traditional events sponsored by the bookies but our kennel strength is good and we feel no need to bring back the Monday/Friday competitions which ceased last year.”
