With Newcastle still celebrating a highly successful Sky night on Tuesday, they popped the champagne corks again on Wednesday with the news that another local businessman has come forward with a sponsorship deal that will keep the racecourse in the headlines.
Neil Conlon, who has greyhounds in training with Jimmy Wright, will be putting up the cash for two competitions, the Neil Conlon Family Building Company 480 and the Neil Conlon Family Buy To Let 640, which will feature at the North East circuit next month.
“The heats of the competitions will be the feature of racing on Saturday, March 7,” commented Newcastle Operations Manager Ian Walton, and the finals will be seven days later. The winners will be picking up £1,500 and Neil will also be sponsoring the supporting opens on March 14.
“It is a generous sponsorship package and I am delighted that Neil is supporting the racecourse in this way. We get some tremendous support from the local an open race trainers these days and I am sure that this will be yet another highly successful event for Newcastle.”
