With the Sporting Press Irish Oaks starting next week, all eyes will be on the outcome of Saturday’s final of the Healthcare & Transport Services Puppy Oaks over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park.

Ballydoyle Honey became the fastest ever female to run at Shelbourne Park when clocking a flying 27.86sec (+25) in the quarter finals but was beaten by 28.33sec winner Droopys Streak in the semi-finals after finding a few trouble spots.

Droopys Streak is fancied to make the draw count in her favour once again to scoop the prize.

Fraser Black’s runner races from her favourite trap six slot on the outside of slow starter Coolavanny Slip and could get the run of the race whereas Ballydoyle Honey could find trouble with kennelmate Skywalker Pearl in the early stages.

Ballydoyle Honey, the Clonmel Open Unraced winner, is undoubtedly the fastest in the race and would take the beating with a clear round.

Honey’s kennelmate Skywalker Pearl is the other runner who must enter the equation.

The Wise Thought bitch has the fastest sectionals in the race and last week made all to beat Urban Gossip in 28.22sec. She could prove hard to catch given enough rope from an ideal trap one

1 Skywalker Pearl 11-2

2 Ballydoyle Honey 4-6

3 Urban Gossip 16

4 Tolpuddle Mist 33

5 Coolavanny Slip 25

6 Droopys Streak 9-4
