Jason Heath’s Ballymac Loch confirmed his position as 5-1 second favourite for the William Hill Springbok with a comfortable trialstake win on Thursday night.

The Hove A1 winner who had impressed with a 29.17 trial over the Wimbledon 480 metre hurdle course, only to be beaten nine lengths by ante post favourite Razldazl Raidio, led at the first bend before going on to a two and a half length win over fourth favourite (7-1) Brinkleysdominic in 29.55 (-20).

The other trialstakes went to Gingers Dream (30.09) and King Jake (29.65).

The pick of the runners on the flat course was Patrick Janssens Barricane Bullet (Scolari Me Daddy-Business Diva, Apr 14) who won the puppy open in the fastest time of the night, 28.63 (-20).
