50th birthday present You Never Listen looked every inch an English Derby prospect when landing the Coral Golden Sprint with a trap-to-line 23.61 winning run in the Romford £10,000 decider.
Jim Reynolds’ brindle went to traps the 7-4f to win for the seventh time in her last eight races.
She trapped in front, was pursued by Laughing Gravy to the bend before destroying her field.
She positively flew along the backstraight to go three clear and then held on for a comfortable victory.
Winning trainer Reynolds said: “It was fantastic. It just typifies the bitch, the type of run we got tonight. Foot perfect from the boxes she went traps to line.
“The pace off the bend was very impressive. As I said before, she is a bitch that I think will get the 480 eventually.”
