Nottingham’s Nathan Corden admits he will be sad to see the last of stipendiary steward Jack Robinson, who was given a fitting send-off to retirement at Sheffield on Tuesday.

Corden said: “I have know Jack since I was a kid and remember him writing his columns in the local paper under the penname ‘Jack Bean’.

“Jack is a great example of how to do a tough job without feeling the need to alienate people.

“Although he was tough, I always found him amenable, prepared to listen and advise whenever necessary.

“Jack will always be welcome back at Nottingham, though I suspect it might be a while before we see him. I believe his plans included a few holidays and rounds of golf.

“On behalf of everybody at Nottingham, we wish him the best for the future in whatever he chooses to do.”
