With the two outsiders withdrawn, punters were treated to a race ‘four-way match’ – with betting 5-4jf Slippy Maska (T1) and Inch Forward (T5), 7-2 Maireads Ivy (T4), 8-1 Meadow (T2). It went like this . . .

The defending champ got home by three quarters of a length in 56.67 – some 36 spots slower than her ’16 victory.
