Aulton Jet has probably appeared in this column more than any other runner in training, and he is there again after another sublime performance in the Supersprint at Cork. In clocking the fastest qualifier, Martin Horgan’s black took his win tally to 16 from 19.
Meanwhile at Kilkenny, Chawke It Down became the first runner of the year to break 29.00 for the standard. The impressive Airmount Dvinsky clocked an incredible 28.43 at Waterford while puppy Loskeran Vardy is quickest over the standard at Tralee. At the other end of the scale is Tahina Kellie. Her 29.04 at Longford will not remain fastest of the year for long – though it is a fine effort from a five year old.
