Hove have announced that they expect to lift the quarantine on Claude Gardiner’s kennel on Monday and Norah McEllistrim’s on Tuesday, with no further cases of sickness having been reported.

They have also announced that June Harvey, who has been attached, but not contracted, to Swindon will join with immediate effect.

Spokesman Ian Smyth said: “It is great news about Norah and Claude’s kennel and we expect to resume Saturday racing from the 30th as planned.

“June’s addition is more about quality than quantity with 10-15 graded dogs, predominantly in the higher grades. We haven’t run as many A1 races as I would like, and we will be looking to increase the calibre of racing, particularly on a Saturday.

“I am not particularly looking for another trainer, but might squeeze one in. After that, we will re-evaluate and can stage more or less open races as necessary.”
