Pat Rosney will be relaunching the career of the highly promising Farran Heaslip very soon.

The dog, who completed a hat-trick of puppy open successes at Sheffield prior to finishing lame in the heat of a Newcastle competition back in March, completed his rehabilitation at Perry Barr on Monday where he went inside the 480-metre record by four spots, clocking a 28.03.

“The problem was a torn shoulder muscle,” reported the trainer, “and we gave him plenty of time off to recover after it was operated on. For the moment I will be restricting him to one-off opens, but I do see him developing as a serious competition dog later in the year.”
