Greyhound racing has been banned in Florida, the home of 13 greyhound tracks.
The Amendment 13 received nearly nine million votes of which 68% were in favour of a ban. Racing will cease in the state by 2020.
Florida was the most active state for the sport which remains legal in Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa West Virgina and Texas.
