We have 10 runners in six different at Shelbourne on Saturday for what should be an exciting Night Of Stars. Full card

Our first runner is Blue East in the first race though I had hoped he would get into the main 525 on the night. He ran very well at Waterford last weekend after stumbling at the start and running on well to be only beaten a head. Unfortunately he is badly drawn in four. The danger must be Music Toour Ears who looks ideally placed in trap one and we will have to get a flyer and him miss his break to beat him.

Nice Charmer goes in the second race with too very decent hounds on his inside. But I think he has the early pace to lead this field and if he does, he will take a lot of beating.

Rural Aloha is our representative in the bitches race. It is her only her second race back after a lay-off and I think she will benefit from the run. I’m not saying she can’t win it, but Sliabh Liag is the one we all have to beat.

We have two in the 575 which is one of the best races on the card. There are two exceptional youngsters on the inside, but I fancy our two to come out on top given their extra experience. I thought Lenson Blinder lived up to his name in the St.Leger Final. He collided with Nice Charmer at the first bend, made up so much ground and ran on brilliantly to finish second. Totos Park is another exceptional performer who is running at the top of his game. I would be hugely disappointed if our two don’t dominate. The 12th race will be the last appearance on the track for Clonbrien Hero. What a greyhound he has been throughout a long and distinguished career. I would love for him to go out on a high. It has been a race against time to get Slippy Cian here after he damaged chest muscles at Limerick. Ideally I would have wanted to get another race into him. Given the draw and taking everything else into consideration, I think Clona Blaze has an ideal chance to reverse Waterford form with Crossfield Will.

We have two of the most genuine and gamest dogs in the kennel in the last race of the night. Neither Drive On Tip or Macaroon Cruz knows how to run a bad race. To win this though, I think they would need to see Skywalker Logan held up in the early stages. If he gets on the bunny, I don’t think they can catch him.
