GBGB Managing Director Mark Bird has confirmed that he is due to address his board of directors in response to to a new Greyhound Trust fund raising leaflet which describes greyhounds needing “more safe places to go” and describes “have limited and sometimes lonely lives . . .from the kennel to the track and back.”

A Change.org petition seeking the removal of Lisa Morris as CEO of the Greyhound Trust has already reached in excess of 150 signatures.

On social media, various greyhound supporters have likened Mrs Morris’ actions as being more in tune with ‘anti racing’ supporters than the head of an organisation that receives £1.5m per year from the BGRF every year.

Bird said: “We are aware of concerns raised by the new leaflet and I will be discussing these concerns with the Trust and thereafter with my Board.”
