Phil Simmonds and Patrick Janssens sent out half of the 14 open race winners at Romford on Friday.

Simmonds weighed in with a 250-1 four-timer from ten runners including both 575 metre opens with a performance of the night from Newlawn Simon (Definite Opinion-Blacknomilk, Dec 13) in 35.46 and the 575m sweepstake final with Castell Henry (Kinloch Brae-Tyrur Alice, Apr 14).

The Janssen treble was at least as impressive as his six runners were spread between three races and he won the lot including a 1st-3rd-4th in the 400m sweepstakes final won by Bockos Alfie (Droopys Scolari-Ballymac Scarlet, Jul 14) in 24.02.
