Trinity Forest went quickest in the Irish Independent Laurels over 525 yards at Cork on Saturday.

David Kennedy’s runner flew out of the traps and made every yard of the running to hold the late challenge of Tyrur Susan by half a length in 28.47sec.

The favourite Ballymac Alamo was eliminated from the event in fifth.

Knocktoo Garry was a trap to line winner of heat two. Neilus O’Connell’s runner was soon clear and held the late surge of Mimis Ace by a length in 28.68sec.

Easter Cup third Coren Sky caught long-time leader Burnt Le Bec close home in heat three to prevail by a short head in 28.59sec. Midtown Raffa qualified in third.

Finger Toast came late in the last qualifier to deny the fast finishing Skywalker Echo by a length and a half in 28.68sec.
