Antigua Fire (ex Towcester Story) has tonight ran out an impressive winner of the Jay & Kay Coach Tours Kent St Leger at Crayford.  Purchased by Nic and Amanda Jeal after he finished runner up in the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket at the same venue earlier this year , the result never really looked in doubt from a very early stage in tonight’s race.  Laying second from an early stage to the pace setting Roxholme Dolly , ‘Fire’ always looked likely to prove too strong in the latter stages.  After taking the lead as they headed down the back straight for the final time , ‘Fire’ run out a 4 1/2 length victor of tonight’s showpiece event in 4496 (first lap 2311) from his running on kennel mate Brigadier Bullet.  It was a second one two in the final of a major event in just a matter of weeks for champion trainer Mark Wallis , he also steered Bumblebee Bullet and Aayamza Breeze to a memorable one two in the Coral TV Trophy Final at Romford in mid September.  Results have really taken an upturn for the Wallis kennel as we head into the final quarter of the year and it looks to be full steam ahead in his efforts to secure yet another trainers championship.
