Blakes Danneel became the eighth member of the incredible Ballymac Vic/Droopys Danneel litter to win an open race when successful at Doncaster on Wednesday.

The Charlie Lister OBE trained May ’15 whelp, contesting just her fourth open, clocked 27.35 (TR 27.16) and joined Dorotas brothers: Delmar, Hooligan, Vic, Wildcat and Woo Hoo, plus the Forest duo Con and Natalee. The only remaining littermate still to crack open race status is Ballyeel Lady, currently contesting A2 at Newcastle.

So far the May litter have amassed 32 wins between them. Surprisingly, they are are still five wins behind Jim Hayton’s second Windy Millar/Hawks Dutchess litter – whelped in August. A repeat mating that saw their dam named 2014 Dam of the Year, the Lowgate sextet: Belatrix, Dolores, Ginny, Hagrid, Malfoy and Sirius may still be joined by Hermione who has been running A2 at Kinsley but was beaten in her first Nottingham open on Monday.
