Roxholme Dream got her Ladbrokes Golden Jacket campaign underway with a facile victory in heat one.

Hayley Keightley’s St Leger winner, a 1-4 chance, broke moderately but paced up well to the turn and went on to slam Fort Hill Storm by seven lengths in 45.56sec. Prestige third Wiki Waki Woo was a neck further back.

Droopys Bear was another to justify short odds in the second qualifier. Dean Childs’ 5-4 shot was soon clear of Brinkleys Stella and Farneys Cookie. However it was Black Francis who came out of the pack to finish second behind just over three lengths behind the 45.69sec winner.

Newinn Echo was a shock 14-1 winner of the third qualifier. Seamus Cahill’s bitch flew out and was soon clear of Droopys Marion and Farley Rio and went on to score by two and a half lengths in 45.74sec.

Racenight Jenny surprised many when clocking the fastest time of the round in heat five.

Champion Stakes winner Millwards Master led and took the field along until the penultimate turn where Racenight Jenny hit the front and went on to hold King Kane by three lengths in 45.48sec.

Rearguard Bond was a big drifter in the market from 2-1 to 7-2 in heat four but the race was virtually over from the start when he flew out and made most to slam Kakantu by six and a half lengths in 45.61sec.

Chicago justified favouritism in the last qualifier. Seamus Cahill’s runner was soon clear and went on to hold Chaotic Dolly, who lost momentum when checking at the sough at the second lap, by just over a length in 45.71sec.
