Take a chance with an each-way punt on Soviet Kenny in the televised final of the Coral Coronation Cup (9.08) over 575 metres at Romford tonight, Tuesday writes Jason Craddock.

John Mullins’ runner, a Puppy Classic runner-up, is one of the freshest in the race having been off since October and available at double figure odds.

He flew around Yarmouth, clocking 27.65sec in a trial before the competition got underway and before getting picked up in his heat by Longrange Denis and getting beaten just over two lengths in 34.93sec.

In last week’s semi-finals he rode a bump at the turn before staying on better to score in 35.30 and if taking a flyer is capable of taking chunks off that time and getting the run of the race.

The favourite is Mark Wallis’s Adageo Bob who has won 16 from his last 19 races over course and distance.

However he has been far from his best in this competition, cramping in the opening round and relinquishing a lead and coming back to dogs he’s capable of beating easily in last week’s semi-final to score by a fast diminishing three quarters of a length in 35.02sec.

At his best he would be hard to beat but at the odds-on quotes he is worth taking on.

Wallis is doubly represented by Van Frenchie, who has a plum draw in trap on and clocked 35.00sec in the opening round but he often struggled to go the early pace in this class.

Droopys Marion and Hometown Day represent local trainer Maxine Locke, who won the last big Sky race here with Adoremus in the Essex Vase before Christmas.

Both have similar profiles in that they are both front runners needing to lead and build up a decent advantage.

Farneys Cookie represents Yarmouth handler Kevin Boon. Boon did pull off a 20-1 shock in the Essex Vase Final around two years ago with Star Cash Simon and victory for this dog who has yet to score in the competition would be an equally big surprise.

See No Gamble is fancied to complete a five-timer in the Get Connected With Coral Connect Card Puppy Stakes at 7.11.

Patrick Janssens’ runner had won all four of his graded starts at Towcester and looks a progressive sort.

Given he’s the sole wide seed in the race he can sweep around the outside and get first run on main danger Lenson Jed, who is no certain to get the clearest of runs to the first turn.

Burgess Borna looks the best bet on the card in the Coral Backs Children with Cancer UK Stakes (7.26) over 925 metres.

John Mullin’s bitch is on the crest of a wave at present and clocked a flying 46.39 over the shorter 750 metre trip back on January 2.

She is the record holder over 874 metres at Crayford when landing the Boxing Day Marathon and looks set to go well clear in the early stages.

Bubbly Time will relish the trip but is capable of finding every bit of trouble going.

Bubbly Rocket can carry the red jacket to victory in the Bet with Coral Online, On Mobile and In Shop Stakes (7.43) over 400 metres. Paul Young’s runner holds a recent decision over main market rival Putyoufootdown, while the main threat could come from Mark Wallis’s Ilewin Allot.

The Play the Coral Football Jackpot Standard at 7.59 looks the most wide open race of the night.

In the field of lid-pingers, Puckane Joe, Evanta Evita and Dower Matt may do each other no favourite on the inside while National Sprint winner Geelo Vegas could get a lovely run up the middle of the track.

Blonde Razor was looking like a potential Coronation Cup winner until fluffing his lines in last week’s semi-finals but he can atone by landing the Download Coral from the App Store Stakes (8.16) over 575 metres.

With little pace on either side of him, he can get a clean run around the opening two bends and set sail for victory.

Derek Knight’s Fivestar Clipper has run some good races around this venue and can provide the forecast link.

Razor’s trainer Mark Wallis can have a quick-fire double with Aayamzaone in the Visit Coral.co.uk Bitches Stakes over 400 metres at 8.33.

The daughter of Droopys Scolari clocked a fast 23.86 here last month and is back in her favourite striped jacket after running a promising second last week.

Paul Young’s Millwards Katy looks the main danger. She beat the section two races ago but the form was reversed last week in behind Evanta Evita.

Wallis is also fancied to land the Coral Home of the Price Bomb Marathon over 750 metres at 8.51 with Vanrooney.

The son of Ace Hi Rumble, with Derby class four bend pace, has won two of his three races over six bends and still looks progressive over extended distances.

He’s never been further than 695 metres but is fancied to quickly build up a clear lead and hold off the cavalry.

Rearguard Bond is well drawn in red but was well beaten by the selection last week, while it may be left to Borna Champ to chase home Vanrooney.
