RPGTV punters following tonight’s meeting from Sheffield might be wise to consider pool betting as an option to the bookmaker computer calculated tricasts according to 24-Dogs senior operations manager Chris Aldworth.

On a card with a number of short priced favourites (4-7 Russanda Ripley, 4-6 Cactus Twink and 4-9 Roxholme Glory), punters might be tempted to tackle the tricasts and that is where pool betting often has the edge.

He said: “Of the 13 races last week, we returned better odds than the chart trifecta (tricast) eight times including one of £178.80 (£34.58) and another of £211.40 (£68.28). Overall, we paid out £916.60 compared to fixed odds returns of £590.25. As a wider comparison, last August our returns were better 60% higher than fixed odds.”
