Heat 14

BOCKOS BOLASIE Ex local local with 28.50 form. Went lame in subsequent open but bounced back in trial. Looks novicey but with gears and a chance.

NINJA DIVA Poole’s finest with a 28.68 (calc) win over course and distance. Decent chance but will have to clear red.

REVILO BOB 28.86 Shelbourne winner with one open win from three outings at Nottingham. Could be running on late for a place.

BE UP FRONT Had a stop-start career with more trials than races but can definitely run and looks set for a clear passage. Worth a punt

Vacant

WESTWAY HAWK 0/5 in Ireland in good puppy company. Taking on much more experienced performers

Sel: Be Up Front 9-4  BET365

Heat 15

BLACK ALDER Fourth in Irish Puppy Derby (6-1) and has 28.42 winning form at Shelbourne. Not one of the top top Irish aces but can win heats.

DROOPYS LATINA Very fine hound with four wins from nine races and a sizzling 28.05 at Shelbourne. Flying sprint trial. Will be well supported

BUDGIE POWER Only two wins from 14 in Ireland but always in with good company. 28.51 Shelbourne which makes him well held by the inside pair.

QUEEN ASIA Photo: Steve Nash

QUEEN ASIA Fine early paced bitch with a great strike rate. Looks ideally drawn and will make the inside pair go. Could go a long way here.

Vacant

KNOCKRAHA JET No wins from his first eight races, a big priced outsider with everything to prove.

Sel: Queen Asia 2-1  BET365

Heat 16

TYNWALD BAZ Good young Irish novice who will win plenty of opens but probably not the kennel’s no.1 string. Needs to avoid trouble on the rail.

HIYA BUTT Semi finalist in Red Mills Unraced. Blessed with awesome early pace and a 17.50 at Nottingham to prove it. Definitely one for the notebook

SOUTHERN MCCOY 28.53 Tralee winner with a D1 win from three Hove outings. A big step up in class

MONTY DON Better than his 0/8 record to date including a 29.05 trial at Sittingbourne. May be Derby class but still to show it.

Vacant

BEVS BANDIT An A2, four A1 wins at Sittingbourne and a 28.90 trialstake at Wimbledon. Won’t be embarrassed.

Sel Hiya Butt 4-6  BET365

Heat 17

IBIZA ROCKS Fast pup in his day who has had a stop/go career to date. Probably best described as A1 Towcester/minor open class. Good draw

COOLAVANNY GOOCH Photo: Steve Nash

COOLAVANNY GOOCH Photo: Steve Nash

COOLVANNY GOOCH Went out in the same heat as Newinn Yolo last year. In good recent form with Henlow Master win – make the last 24.

HONOUR AND GLORY Handy open racer and Scottish Derby semi finalist but has thus far fallen away against real class

EL MYSTRO Two races in Ireland, a 29.02 win at Shelbourne and a 29.10 Wimbledon trial. One for another day.

Vacant

NEWLAWN NED Broke 24.00 on racing debut at Romfordand ran well behind Ballymac Shirley. Another for whom this Derby might be premature.

Sel: Coolavanny Gooch 2-1  BET365

Heat 18

REVILO FOX 28.48 Shelbourne form but a best of third in his first seven GBGB open races to date.

DEANRIDGE MADBYE Two wins from seven outings to date – both in ‘average’ times at Towcester. Not among the kennel’s elite

OMEGA KIN 28.65 winner at Tralee with three races on his Enghlish card. Has 28.02 at Yarmouth. Must have ability but needs to hit the ground running

DROOPYS TWO One win in 11 to date – 29.15 Sittingbourne – lots of seconds and third but no suggestion yet that she is Derby class

BALLYMAC BROGAN - pic Steve Nash

BALLYMAC BROGAN – pic Steve Nash

BALLYMAC BROGAN Loves the track – 2015 Juvenile winner – and Arc success earlier this year. Could go a long way into this year’s event.

VIKING JACK A very classy act at his peak, now almost four. Ran well in Three Steps and could follow Brogan around

Sel: Ballymac Brogan 4-9  BET365

Heat 19

BALLYMAC MATT Irish Derby winner, Scottish Derby third. A big striding dog with awesome pace but jury is out whether he will suit Wimbledon

BANG ON GILES His four wins to date have been at Towcester where he has a best of 28.47. Not cannon fodder but has a bit to find to compete

YOU NEVER LISTEN Awesome Golden Sprint winner last year. If she ran Wimbledon like Romford or Crayford would be serious player.

Vacant

BUBBLY CUBA Worked his way through from A7 at Romford but still to win A1. Making up the numbers

JACKS DRICO Nine races in Ireland for two wins, on all known form, a minor open racer.

Sel: Ballymac Matt 2-5  BET365

Heat 20

GYP ROSETTI Won nearly half of his 15 Irish races. Ran up in the Irish Derby Plate last September. Much quicker than first trial might suggest

CLORAN PADDY Decent young dog with winning form at Nottingham and Sheffield. Should get through in a tough heat, despite size of field

DROOPYS BUICK NON RUNNER-OFF COLOUR

Vacant

DIEGO FLIGHT Super dual distance dog who was beaten at odds-on in last year’s Leger Final. Just missed a place in Scottish Derby Final. Go a long way

TORPHIN BLUESKY Not without abllity – 28.80 Sittingbourne (480), and 28.68 over c&d. Will be pushing to qualify

Sel: Diego Flight 7-4   BET365

Heat 21

BRIAR HILL Ex-Pat Buckley runner who went a couple of round of the Irish Puppy Derby. Not without a squeak in a weak heat

KILDALLON BRUNO Joint second fastest sprinter at Shelbourne last year but UK trials have been ordinary. Something to prove.

OUR FIN Young dog with only five races in his life. Clocked 28.01 for Sheffield’s 480 metres. One to follow here and going forward

BUBBLY TORPEDO Went out of the Irish Puppy Derby third round and is held by top stars on that form. Reasonable UK form. Could qualify

KILLEACLE TIG Only a youngster but has shown no grounds to suggest he will cope in this company.

SWIFT WHIRLWIND Ideally best of ‘short six bends’ and will struggle against the top stars when not able to dominate, but could win in this company

Sel: Swift Whirlwind 7-2  BET365

Heat 22

DOUBLE OH SEVEN 28.35 Tralee, 28.66 Limerick, has been mixing it with some of Ireland’s finest youngsters. Could be one to enhance reputation

BADABING Young dog with several top heat wins at Yarmouth. Might go a couple of rounds.

DAMSON JAM Class sprinter with some success over four bends. Line of 480 form to follow? Ran Joe Golden to just under two lengths at Nottingham.

BRAMBLE MAGPIE KO’d n Ladbrokes Puppy Derby final as a co-favourite. Do well to qualify in a tough heat.

Vacant

COOLVANNY SLIP A very decent hound with few races on his card. Clocked 28.15 at Towcester for Derek Law. Could make the last dozen

Sel: Double Oh Seven 11-8  BET365

Heat 23

SHANEBOY FREDDIE 28.46 form over course and distance earlier in the year. Just missed out on a place in Scottish Derby Final. Can win this

CEROC GRUMPY Second fastest dog at Peterborough this year. Won a decent trialstake. Not sure he will be around in latte stages, but fair hound

MELODYS WINNER One win from seven outings in Ireland – 29.22 Clonmel – UK form average – making up the numbers.

BRAMBLE TED Exposed runner with over 30 races on his card. Track Championship runner for Newcastle where he is A1 regular

Vacant

BARRICANE STORM A 28.39 winner at Towcester who also landed a trialstake. The kennel’s second string but should go close here

Sel: Shaneboy Freddie 4-7  BET365

Heat 24

COOLAVANNY PAT One serious greyhound and possibly Charlie’s best chance of Derby win no.8. 28.33 for 480 at Nottingham. Enough said

EXPRESS MASTER Old master who has never run a bad race in his life. Would have romped home in some of the easier heats

MACS ON STORM 34 races on his card and best described as ‘minor open class who stays a short six bends’

SOUTHFIELD JOCK Take 40 metres off the Derby trip and he would be one of the favourites. Hove track record holder with 28.40 over the Derby trip

FAMIAS HOPE A Towcester A2 runner with minor open race winning form. Started at 16-1 against a kennelmate last time out, should say enough

FARRAN SMITH Seven races without a win does not do him credit. Will win his share of opens but this could be a blank eighth.

Sel: Coolavanny Pat 5-4  BET365

Heat 25

FIRE HEIGHT TOSH Expect to be talking a lot more about this lad in coming weeks. Broke 16.00 for the sprint and stays. Will make Sanchez go.

CLUBBER LANG Couple of minor open wins to date – and broke 24.00 at Romford – but this is a tougher school. Will be running on.

LENSON SANCHEZ Photo: Steve Nash

LENSON SANCHEZ Photo: Steve Nash

LENSON SANCHEZ 28.17 and 28.12 wins last year before going out in the semis. A class act indeed – could do even better this year.

SIZZLERS PUMA Hove sprinter with a 29.85 over that track’s 515 metres. Looks very highly tried in this company

BOCKOS ALFIE Pup with only six races in his career and has won last three. Already won a trialstake in 28.64. A fine prospect, but need to learn quick

AJLO LEGALBEAGLE A tough young dog only out of the first three once in his last 15 races. Form over Jaytee Spartacus is pretty impressive

Sel: Lenson Sanchez 7-4  BET365

Heat 26

PEREGRINE FALCON Fifth (3-1) in the Easter Cup should say it all. Has the class to win hear and reach the last 24 or better

RIO SAN MARINO Started out in A7 at Henlow and has won 7/12. Impressive trialstake win and another who could make it through to the last fortnight.

MILLWARDS WHITEY Laurels winner who hasn’t won for a while. Has the pace to win at his best but needs to find some old form sharpish

Vacant

EBONY FLYER Over 30 opens on his card – best of was last time out. Did anyone else see a 28.40 (calc) in him? Will need to reproduce in tough heat

TEDS LAST Clocked 28.30 in Derby second round last year. Could cause a shock or two starting here.

Sel: Teds Last 4-1  BET365
