Skywalker Logan played the lead role on the second night of the Star Sports Arc & LPS Greyhound Derby with a track record breaking run for the Nottingham 500 metres course. Pat Guilfoyle’s home bred runner, owned by Devon solicitor Ray Patterson took 11 spots off Sawpit Sensation’s previous best set in 2012.

Queen Beyonce clocked the second fastest time of the round and became the quickest female ever over the Derby course with a 29.27 run, eclipsing Domino Storm’s 29.34, and being only four spots slower than her dad, Eden The Kid’s best ever run over course and distance.

Braveheat Bobby and Droopys Nadal shared the round’s fastest sectional f 4.88.

It was another superb nights for the Irish with another seven wins, including a double for Peter Cronin. The Brit charge was led by Liz McNair with a home bred treble plus a double for the adopted Belgian, Patrick Janssens. Punters came out on top with nine winning favourites.

The most significant eliminations from a betting perspective were Irish trio Clonbrien Swift, Slippy Cian and Cushie Jet.

One other interesting snippet is that in the first restricted Derby in decades, of the nine entries originally failing to make the 192, eight were eliminated. The exception was Bayview Jerry who finished third at 33-1 on Friday.
