On Tuesday we will publish Mark Pierrepont’s ‘fastest to halfway’, ‘fastest from halfway’ figures for the second round.

In the meantime, here are some more lists, starting with (left) the list of the personal best performances for each the 20 fastest dogs in the Derby to date.

The top two runs, headed by Skywalker Logan’s track record, were both from the first round.

Of the top 20, five have already been eliminated, while a sixth, Braveheart Bobby has been withdrawn lame.

But it isn’t just about times, four of the 48 remaining runners are yet to break 30.00. Even excluding going allowances; Headford Maurice has best actual times of 30.26 and 30.49.

In terms of sectionals, top spot is shared by Braveheart Bobby and Droopys Nadal (4.88) with Magical Bale next at 4.89. In terms of the least early pace and still engaged, Jelly Crock with a best of 5.25.

Here is another interesting set of figures. Winning traps:

T1-8    T2-9    T3-8    T4-13    T5-5    T6-5

Put another way, T4 (27%) has had three more winners than traps five and six combined. Had you backed every trap four in the Derby to date for a £1 stake, you would now be £7.73 in front.

As for winning trainers, anyone backing  Peter Cronin’s eight runners to date for a £1 stake would £11.57 in profit. Alan Bellis/Liberty Hawk supporters would £9.25 in front. The big payday though would be for Desperado Dan fans following his 10-1/2-1 double.
