The shift of the Star Sports/ARC/LPS Greyhound Derby to its earliest ever slot has led to a slightly disjointed racing calendar which might need some rethinking going forward – writes Floyd Amphlett.

With the days of ‘six month future events’ lists apparently no longer deemed feasible, we have tried to produce a rough guide to the potential racing year based on 2019 fixtures. We have asterisked events for which 2020 dates have been confirmed and the events are colour coded to show type – eg red depicts standard distance racing with Cat One races in upper case.

Furthermore, there are clearly issues relating to such events as the RPGTV Scottish Derby which have still to be confirmed. There is also a presumption that all events will be repeated, where clearly Henlow has suspended their Cat 2 competitions and other events such as the Sunderland Classic – to name but one – are yet to be confirmed. On current schedules though, June and September appear particularly sparse.
