Seamus Cahill put a team through their paces again at Wednesday’s trial session at Sunderland and the Hove trainer was pleased with the results as Southfield Jock and Ballymac Brogan put in very promising runs.

Southfield Jock produced a flying 27.16 for the 450 metres, an improvement of 47 spots on his trial last week, while Juvenile winner Ballymac Brogan, who clocked 27.39 seven days ago, lowered that to 27.21.

Cahill said: “The dogs trialled satisfactorily and both will be going up for the Classic at the UK Festival of Racing next month. That will be sufficient for them at Sunderland, we just wanted to get it out of the way and they have other commitments before then. Southfield Jock goes to Monmore next week for the Summer Cup and I expect to run Ballymac Brogan in the Derby Plate at Wimbledon.”

The trainer also trialled Who Needs Pace (27.61) over four bends at the session but his likely target on Wearside will be the Festival Flyer over 261 metres, while Forest Fuseler (27.65) will be aimed at the Puppy Plate at the big meeting.
